I got a dozen hermit crabs from a buddy, some blue legs, some scarlet/red legs (not sure which) and one big one. I assumed it was a blue leg hermit but then realised that blue legs do not grow larger than one inch. the one I need to identify is approximately an inch and a half across the leg span and instead of the blue-red-blue pattern on the legs it goes blue-black-blue. I'm aware my description is vague, I'm sorry Confused I am mostly just curious, it does not behave aggressively towards any of the smaller ones. thanks for reading this, I appreciate anyone's guess/knowledge Smile

Posting a picture would help greatly in making a correct identificaion. I would say from your description that you have a Electric Blue Hermit crab. They are reef safe crabs, grow to around 2", and are great algae consumers.
