Hello, I have a 38 gallon hex tank with 2 Angelfish, 2 Clown Loaches, 1 medium sized plecco, 1 swordtail, and 3 other unknown fish. 2 are black and white, small .5" pictured below:

the other is kind of clearish or translucent but not quite see through about 1" long pictured below:

Also, I have two angelfish, but I am curious what kind they each are. They are pictured below:

They have got to be of different species altogether I would guess because as you can see, 1 has big giant lips almost like ms. piggy lips. The other has a completely different face, almost looking meaner. Both are very pretty I think. Size when we got them 6 months ago, 1" size now, 2.5". Would appreciate any help identifying any of these.

The black and white fish look like black skirt tetras, but it's hard to tell in the pic.
The angelfish with the stripes is the 'wild' variety of p. scalare. The other one is a koi angelfish, but the lip shape is not normal. If you bought him this way, it might just be a genetic anomaly; otherwise, sometimes lip deformations can be caused by disease.
I'm not sure about the fish in the middle picture, sorry.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Yes, I think you are correct, the black and white ones are black skirt tetras. About the angelfish with big lips, is it possible it was a disease that he had and was cured of? We did get him like that from the local aquarium center. He seems very healthy and happy since we have had him. I always thought his lips were supposed to be like that. Anyway, thanks much for replying.

It probably is just genetic. It kind of reminds me (just a bit) of the nuchal hump that some other cichlids get. They look healthy and happy. Congratulations!

the fish in the centre seems to be a stained glass fish

The fish in the middle looks like my white skirt tetras. Does it school with your black skirts?

Urg... you could be right. It may be a painted fish.

The first picture is of Black Skirt tetras. The middle picture is either a Serpae Tetra or a Red Phantom Tetra, it is not a painted glass fish. You have a natural angel fish and a Koi angelfish, and the lip growth is probably from fighting at the store or during shipping. If it is not whiteish or anything you should be fine. Hope that helps.

doesn't look like serpae or red phantom too me, they have much deeper colour then that. I'm sure that it isn't coloured. it's too deep to be a glass catfish and the way the colour is distributed looks different then it would if it were dyed. it's a linebred colour variant of the black skirt tetra, which I'm sure the other 2 black ones are. they are very hard to get pictures of.

I would have to agree that the top is a black skirt tetra. Those angelfish look really nice, by the way.
