I have a wierd cocoon looking growth taking over my liverock... it's white, and looks like fuzz... I don't have a very good camera, but it looks like a cocoon, but they are EVERYWHERE! do I have a bad infestation or is this OK? _________________ 75G salt tank with live rock, 3 damsels, 1 puffer, 1 tang, 2 skunk clowns, 2 perculas, 1 unknown

if the tank is young, I.e. under a year old, then tanks go through many boom and busts as it matures. You might just be having a bit of a population boom of whatever it is.
If its small and just looks like a small blob of goo in cocoon shape and is in the shadows of the live rock, then I wouldn't worry.
If that doesn't seem like the answer, then a pic is probably best. _________________ "Just don't look in my fish room honey... it's just better for all of us. " |

I do have what looks like white coral too... I wonder if they're related.... _________________ 75G salt tank with live rock, 3 damsels, 1 puffer, 1 tang, 2 skunk clowns, 2 perculas, 1 unknown
