I would like to do either a docile tank with:
2 Ocellaris Clown's
1 Yellow Tang
1 Flame Angel
and a few other fish, but not sure what I could go with.
OR a predator tank with:
1 Volitan Lionfish
1 Snowflake Eel
and a few other fish, but not sure what I could go with.
Imput would be much appreciated. Thanks. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |

I would think a docile tank would be a lot less maintenance _________________ MY FISH IS BETTER THAN YOUR FISH!!!!! |

From what I've read, you would be right. But I'm not all sure what I would go with. Maybe:
2 Ocellaris
2 Purple Firefish
1 Flame Angle
1 Yellow Tang
and perhaps a few others, but just not sure what I could go with. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |

I'm pretty sure you could not put the fire fish together, they are pretty agressive towards one another usually, so it may be best to go with just one.
Are you going to have liverock? Corals? _________________

I plan on a FOWLR. I plan on a pair of Purple Firefish. I all ready know that they should be kept singly unless a they are a mated pair or a larger tank is provided. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |

You are exactly right, AquariumChicky. Firefish will only attack each other if they are not a mated pair. Your best option is to look for two that are living together peacefully at an lfs. If there are more than two together in one tank or if you take one from one tank and one from another, chances are that one will kill the other.
Other than that, your stocking list looks good. |

The only thing I would add is forget a Tang in a 55 gallon tank, it is marginally too small. These fish are very active swimmers and need more space than a 12" wide tank can give them. _________________ Out on the road today...I saw a DeadHead sticker on a Cadillac...

OK. Since it's down to:
1 Flame Angel
2 Ocellaris Clowns
2 Purple Firefish
Is there anything else I could get, or am I at the line? _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |
