| I picked up a very interesting mushroom at work today (at least I think it's a mushroom), we think it's a ricordea but we have no idea and can't identify it anywhere... I'll work on a picture but until then, here's a general description: it's brown colored and has odd 'fur' on it, these weird little growths that make it look like a ricordea but are maybe a few mm long and thin and pointed, most of which have a few branches on them.. on one of them (there are actually three on the same rock) there are a few little green spherical things that almost look like spores or eggs. Also, these things are now everywhere in one of the coral tanks at work and spread a lot faster than mushrooms do, and they grow everywhere like on the sides of the tank and on the powerheads and all over the rock. I'm wondering if maybe it's a sort of pest-coral? I have no idea and none of the professionals at work do, so if anyone has some idea that'd be awesome |

Because I'm never around to appreciate my 55-gallon firemouth tank at my mom's house, it might be in the game plan to take down that tank and bring it to my house and turn it into a reef tank
Well now I'm researching my options for if and when I upgrade, and I've come up with a ball park plan:
-transplant all of the creatures from the 20 and turning it into a refugium
-over the course of the next few months slowly add liverock as the tank can handle it
-over time, add for livestock:
~1 kole tang
~1 starry algae blenny (assuming that a 55 is enough space for him to not be at my bicolor's throat all the time, can someone answer this please?)
~return my percula clown to the store, and get a mated pair of maroon clowns (we can get true mated pairs)
~1 purple firefish
~1 fairy wrasse
~a blood shrimp or two
What are your opinions? |
