I woke up today(Monday) to find one of my Danios missing and searched the tank very carefully! He's no where to be found! I feed them all lightly as I was told to do- could one of the Ryukins eaten the Danio??

I don't know much about goldfish...have stayed away from them since my daughter had one years ago that was the killer of all fish I put into the tank. He/she ate every tetra I put in there!

It'd probably eat it if it was already dead. Don't think a goldfish could catch a healthy danios though.

I agree with Unissuh, Danios are generally to fast for goldfish, but if a gold fish sees an opportunity it will take it.

Thanks for encouraging me along......... I was afraid at first and now I am more relaxed with my fish! I kept thinking I would wake up and they'd be dead! Water readings getting easier to do and tank changes.

Some big goldfish are nasty. I used to have a big one and it swallowed half of a rosy-red minnow. When I got the minnow out, its backbone broke but it lived one for quite a while.

In my experience, the goldfish that I keep in tanks seem to be less territorial/aggressive/hostile than the ones in ponds.

Just to add, yes they will eat pretty much anything they can catch. I used to feed mine small white cloud minnows every now and then. They'd catch them with no problems.
