Today I was gardening with my mum and I said "do you know what would look nice in that corner, a pond" to my surprise she liked the idea and said that if I did the work and research I might be able to build one. My grandad has a really nice pond so he will be able to help me a little, but I was wondering how much it would cost to set up a smal (but not too small) pond?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! _________________ Remember FISH are LIVING CREATURES |

Hi sorry I wasnt clear. I'm not sure of the capacity, but enough to house a 3/4 shubumpkins. I was think about maybe a quarter of a circle shape as it is going in a corner; if not a circle or a oval would be fine. I would like it to be below ground; with a few lumps of granite around the outside. don't think I'm planning on destroying it! _________________ Remember FISH are LIVING CREATURES |

My garndparents have a lot of pond liner, so that will be my option. What capacity will it need to be (for 3/4 shubumpkins) and how much will it cost to set up a punp and filter for the size? _________________ Remember FISH are LIVING CREATURES |

Well the rule of thumb is 30g to start out with and another 10g for every fish you add, so that brings the total to a astonishing 70g , but personally I'd make it as large as possible, with the minimum being 80g.
I can't realy give you the cost since I don't live in the US or UK, so I'll honestly be guessing if I said $150-300. _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |

Thanks for the advice, I will go with 80gallons. Luckily my local garden center is closing down and they have a great pond section, they are selling everything half price. How lucky is that! _________________ Remember FISH are LIVING CREATURES |
