honestly, I don't know what a sump is. but no I don't think it will have a sump. I am buying the tank from some person, and its never been used and it comes witt he pumps filters and powerheads.

okay ummm, will you be using pine wood or what kind of wood for the stand, an idea for really heavy tanks is to use large bricks made of concrete block, and to stack them then place a wooden surface over the bricks and then eventually a soft surface to place the tank upon, but yeah what kind of materials did you have in mind?

How about GARF's (http://www.garf.org/)? Have you looked at their DIY Tank Stand plans. It's quite simple really. Just enter in the dimensions and poof- it will spit out a material list and step-by-step instructions.

However, I would probably recommend using 4X4's for the uprights instead of 2X4's or 2X6's (I forget which one they recommend).
