Are you sure that all of the goldfish grow because I had a black moor and I kept it in a 2 gallon tank, and it lived for a very long time and it didn't grow.

How long is "very long time". Goldfish can live to nearly 40 years if looked after properly.

"The oldest living Goldfish to date was a goldfish named Tish owned by Hilda and Gordon Hand of Thirsk, N. Yorkshire, England. Tish lived for 43 years after being won at a fairground in 1956."

Size has a lot to do with the first 160 days of a goldfish's life---the space provided/food/genetic's etc. Now because Goldies have the capabililities of growing up to a foot(depending on type),and their massive waste production,it's recommended to give them at least ten gal's per fish.
I have a friend that has a 10 inch Black Moor,my biggest Moor right now is around 7 inches.
Keeping your Moor in a two gal. tank for a very long time probably stunted your fish. How long was "A very long time?"

You sould get him a 30g tank at least + 10g for every fish you add, if you want him/them to grow.
