As some of you might know I am building a 2 tier tank system, up till now it has been 2 20g tanks and a sump...
I've found a way to make room for it else where and so have the oppertunity to make it 2 40gallons and a sump!
!------------------!
! ! <-- top 40g
! !
!------------------!
! !<-- bottom 40g
! !
!------------------!
!------------------!<--hidden sump
!------------------!
!------------------!

It will stand at least 5" tall and 4" wide
I have but one concern about my masterpiece...
100gallons is a lot of water and rather heavy at that... laminate flooring?
I will have the tanks separated with one using a conventional filter, as I have both brakish and freshwater fish who I'd like to give bigger homes ut the option will always be there to link them up!
Sorry I had to share it with someone whod understand Wink

Floor issues can be overcome simply by adding a nice, large and thick sheet of good quality plywood between the floor and your tank setup, so that it's weight gets spread over a wider area.

Are you using the sump for the brackish tank or for the FW tank? What are you planning on putting in it?

The plan now is to have the two tanks connected as build as it will be simpler.
The tanks will be black water, one an asian community the other amazon cichlids Smile
Will a first floor normally be able to hold two 240l tanks?... Yeah that changed two Smile
