|
|
I have recently looked in my tank and I thought I saw a thin pink piece of flesh on the bottom of the tank and I thought it was one of my Kuhli loaches eaten up by my other fish. I then realised that it was the poo of my 2 Shubunkin Goldfish. I feed my fish on Tuesdays,Thursdays,Saturdays and Sundays with flake food in the morning and I also drop a fish treat in the tank every night before I go to bed. One of my Shubunkin's is really fat and I feel really sorry for it because it's struggling to swim. Am I overfeeding? I think I will leave it for a few days until I feed them next.
The fish I have are:
2 Shubunkins
2 Dwarf Gouramies
2 Kuhli Loaches
1 Kissing Gourami
1 Rainbbow Shark
1 Guppy
1 Harlequin Rasbora
1 Glowlight Tetra |

Thanks for your reply. The Shubunkin is OK now, it must have had a really full belly lol. I keep all of these fish in a 200 litre tank and the fish treats ingredients are as follows:
Fish and Fish Derivatives
Cereals
Yeasts
Derivatives of Vegetable Origin
Vegetable Protein Extracts
Molluscs and Crustaceans
Oils and fats
Algae
Minerals.
Protein= 35%
Oil= 5%
Fibre= 1%

I'm glad your problem is solved
The "fish treat" sounds OK.
I don't mean to be rude and I know you didn't ask for advice on stoking, but in you list I see some fish that should actually be in a shoal I.e. Harlequin Rasboras and Glowlight Tetras.
Merry Christmas to you to _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |

I started off with 5 Neons, 3 Glowlights and 1 Harlequin which I got free when I bought my kuhli loaches because the man caught it at the same time and asked if I wanted it for free so I couldn't say no, lol. All my neons and 2 Glowlights died a few months ago . |

Why did they die
Do you plan on get more fish (it would be better for the fish)? If so I'd recommend:
4 Guppies (only if you want to breed, if not, don't bother the guppy will be OK).
7 or more Harlequin Rasbora
5 or more Glowlight Tetra
And if you make the trip to the LFS then you could get another Kissing Gourami as well. _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |

I was at my lfs today and I bought 10 neon tetras, 1 Pink Kissing Gourami (the other one I have is a marbled kisser) and a fish that sticks onto the glass (not sure what it is), they didn't have any Plecos . My marbled kisser keeps chasing the pink kisser, is that normal? I thought it could be either spawning,bullying or playing. Replys will be nice. Thanks
PS: I can't find my Harlequin, I think it's dead  |

I'm glad you got some more fish , but why no Glowlight Tetras
The Gouramis, I think are just playing or establishing whose boss, but keep an eye on them. Are they kissing? Are they the same size? _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |

| I couldn't find any glowlights, so I got 10 neons so the glowlight can school with them. Both Kissing Gouramies occasionally lock lips and they are both roughly 13cm. |

The Gouramies sound OK. Locking lips is a sign of aggression, if you didn _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |
