I've been raising a few Austrolebias nigripinnis(black finned pearlfish) and along with 2 kinky spined fish which I culled I discovered a small one with a kind of protrusion on the throat. Appeared to have trouble eating so it was culled. Now I found this guy. A big un and the protrusion is smaller. Sorry about photo quality but you can just see it.

Any ideas?

pH 7.6 Gh and KH around 8

I am thinking that it is a thyroid tumor. Tumors are mainly caused from too much hybridization and the tumors are also genetic.
