My vote went to Mr. 2la's picture. Incredible macro on such a shy and tiny fish. The photo captures the "moment" at the right time and plays well with the theme.
I'm still kicking myself for not entering the contest. Couldn't decide on an entry. Crying or Very sad

Geez, Magnus, you had seven days! Wink We'd still love to see your potential entry (or entries), Magnus, unless you're waiting to spring them on us when the opportune monthly theme comes up. At its heart this is ultimately an exhibition, not a competition, so if others want to share photos that didn't quite make the cut in terms of final entry or deadline, by all means feel free.

(Thanks for the vote, BTW...)

2la

I know they're not red, Martin, but aside from the background that was the only remotely complementary thing I could find in the picture. If I hadn't, we would have had to disqualify it.

I'm guess the opportune moment is now Smile . I got plenty of time to take new pics for the next contest.

I was fighting between these three here:

But, I ended up not using any of them because they just didn't have the umph. Sad

Voting is closed! And with 12 votes (21%), Zeco's beautiful shot of blue and orange discus eeks out a close one over my scarlet badis 'sniffing' a cryptocoryne leaf. Third place goes to mobius's beautiful shot of a Boeseman's rainbowfish.

Congratulations, Zeco!

Another great turnout for our 2nd contest, with lots of high-quality photos of wonderfully colorful subjects! Next contest starts up in about two weeks, so keep your suggestions for themes coming...

Regards,

2la

Magnus, how do you take such good quality photgraphs, I mean you can see bubbles and individual algae hairs on that leaf. My Dad has a pretty good SLR and is a better photographer than me but we couldn't seem to get any good shots.

Cory,

IMO, with SLR cameras, the glass is more important than the body. He should invest in a good macro lens, and just shoot away (if it's a digital camera). He should be able to crank out amazing macro shots in no time.

I hope more people would comment on this, as I have no real experience with macro lenses (YET).

Congrats, Zeco!
(And 2la, close but no cigar Laughing )
