I did dementions for a 55 gallon tank...

Interesting that they use 4" posts... that seems like it would make the stand really heavy.

Also interesting that the most expensive part is the Angle Brackets... Laughing

Did you enclose your stand with doors? If so, what did you use to make them?

I'm not sure you save much money over buying a pre-made stand at the LFS... but if you do it right, this is probably more sturdy and actually a nice piece of furnature that should last a long time.

YOu also get the satisfaction of making something yourself. Cool

Well,

regarding the 4", I think that is most of it for safe, I use a 2x4 and it is coming along very well. Regarding the angle brackets you have to shop around to find a good deal, I found many places on line with very good prices.

Yes the satisfaction in making your own it is not equal to it. Nothing better that to let your imagination fly and create something from nothing.
