I created the 2 litre bottle co2 injector, its now injecting air bubbles through my side hanging filter.
what I need to know is that if the 2 litre bottle is not foaming is it really co2 that is being injected into the tank!
it is shooting bubbles into the tank but there's no foam in the 2 litre bottle
good? bad?
any suggestions on how to get the foam if it is needed?

You really will not have much "foam" in your reactor and the little "air" bubbles being produced is indeed CO2...
I suggest doing a search in the archives under CO2 and use me(naclh2ofly) as the author, I have posted several excellent sites for DIY CO2.
In order to measure your CO2 you need to know your KH & pH... too low a KH and you may experience a pH crash, again a search will give you some sites for DIY CO2 and CO2 chart/calculator...
