Hello, I just registered for the first time but I've frequented and often used your information on species to help others with their fish.

I was going to talk about my fish but even though I've been doing fish for 30 some odd years I'm scared.

I just read one of the welcome threads in which one poor guy mentioned he had a pleco in a 10 gallon tank and it got him preached to like he just joined a cult. Ease up people, if you mean well, speak well. Nothing like running a guy off when he's tryine to share his fish keeping experience!

I plan to come back and hope we get along. I love fish and fishlovers but I don't tolerate know it all's very well at all.

Maybe I won't come back, this hasn't been a very good start.

Mak

Hi Mak,
Welcome aboard Smile
Don't be spooked by the harsh posters, there are lots of members out there that will appreciate a calm and helpful spirit.
I too, find it odd when people blast others who simply may not know better; particularily when the theme of the site is too educate fishkeepers. I think old age and raising a few kids tends to mellow the the heart. I've learnt that how you say things is just as important as what you say, otherwise people put up a wall and nothing gets through.
Hope you have a good experience.
(P.S. I am just in the process of researching B.N. pleco's in hopes of adding one to my nocturnal tank.)

Thank you for the pleasant reply Dale! I appreciate that.

I have about 150 Bristle noses right now and they are absolutely the best Algae eaters I personally have ever had. They are very hardy and very peaceful except when arguing over food. My adults share a tank with a Gibbiceps (sailfin) Pleco and he doesn't mess with the little BN daddies when they are guarding a cave of eggs. Fun to watch.

Thanks again.

Very Happy mak
