Hello all. I am just starting my first fishtank, thanks to Caitlin who is the best person I know because she bought me fish. I shall never get any homework done again.
Anyway, I am now cycling my tank (25 gal.) with six White Clouds, and a huge boost from some of Caitlin's tank water and gravel. Once it's cycled I'm going to add three Firebelly Newts and possibly, later on, a Chinese Hillstream Loach. Anyone have any kind of experience with tanks like that? Would newts eat my minnows?
I have a piece of driftwood and some rocks set up so the newts have a place to bask out of water. Once I obtain a few more rocks I shall create even more lairs for my fish and future newts.
Does anyone know anything about Chinese Hillstream Loaches? I hear they like fairly brisk-moving water, and I've heard various reports of their hardiness and sensitivity. How might they fare in such a tank?
I have no personal experience with any fish, but I've heard so much of Caitlin's babbling that I have a pretty good idea of how to take care of a tank, and I'm sure she'd destroy me if I ever killed my fish (heaven forbid!) But if anyone knows about newts or Loaches, let me know, as I am wary of reading about them on random internet sites. _________________ Doesn't buying fish just give you a rush? |
