Hi,
I have a cichlid tank just set up.
My tap water is very soft, about 4d and pH 6.6
I have crushed coral substrate which raises pH to 7.8 and gH to 8.
I have been recommended by my LFS to add sera mineral salt. http://www.aquaristikshop.com/e_Produktinformationen/sera-mineral-salt.htm
This is supposed to harden the water by adding minerals native to the lakes of africa.
My question is, how much do I need. The recommended dosage is 5g per 100L which will increase hardness by 0.6dH. So am I right is thinking that I need to add 50g per 100l to increase hardness by 6dh???
Seems like a lot, or am I missing something?

None.

The crushed coral should be enough to keep the tank stable. but you may want to add a small amount - say 5g per 50 litres to new water when you do a water change.
