Never had problems with sparkling gouramis and other fish -possibly most people try to keep them in tanks too small for fish to move away?

Black neons are a more sophisticated choice than the usual ones and more impressive than the other green "flash" fish on your list.

It has been a family joke for years that none of my fish have common names Laughing

Sorry, I missed the "black" part of your neons and was thinking of the neons that everyone seems to have. I do like the black neons, but I was sort of hoping for a smaller sized fish for my school. Smalller size = larger school. I'll add them to my list for consideration. Smile

I could add that I'm not particularly interested in the hassle of breeding fish. I considered just keeping male dwarf cichlids, such as a GBR and an apisto, but common opinion is that they won't show their true colors if I don't keep them in pairs/trios. Confused
