Question:

Is it possible to breed the "fancy guppies" that you can find in the store (which I am assuming are all male) with the females from the 'feeder guppy' tanks?

the males in the feeder guppy tanks look very similar to the fancy male guppies, except they don't have the large and brightly colored tails.

I was just wondering if it's possible to breed them (like dogs and wolves), or if they are a completely different species, and if anyone has.

The feeder guppies are easy to breed, been doing it for a long time, you basically just have a tank for them and some plants/gras for the fry to hide in until they are big enough.

They are the same species but offspring will look like feeders.
The big tailed strains have been selected for generations. These are as easy to breed as feeders so why not get some pure strain females?
