[Matthew Hoffman]

I am trying to identify this fish, I have owned him(I am sure it is a male) for about 6 months(He was this color but not as intense when I bought him). He is about 2.5"-3", not very aggressive or territorial. I have narrowed it down to these species(indented ones are most likely)

It looks like a Kenyi that is starting to become yellow.

Could well be a hybrid.

My guess would be Pseudotropheus flavus.

You may want to post a few pics over at cichlid-forum.com. They have a specific section for fish ids.

I think the yellow you are seeing is just the my bad lighting. He is quite blue(as seeing by the last two pics). His scales can have a yellow/green sheen, but only in bad lighting (as seeing in the first few pics).

The fish looks greenish/yellowish in all of the pics to me... perhaps it's just the computer... but I've looked on three different screens with the same result.

I'm going to go with diademhill and guess hybrid, then. Where did you get this fish?
