Hey guys, I have Ben trying all arvy to set up the 2213 and I've followed the instructions to a tee. Filled the canister with water and all. And whenever I turn it on the impeller just makes loud noises, I can see it trying to suck the water, so I tried helping it by syphoning one end. But didn't fix my situation. The instructions aren't very clear and I can't Find much on the net. Any ideas??[/b]

There should be two hoses going into the filter, one going into the top, and one into the bottom. Leave the top one connected, but disconnect the bottom one. Suck on the hose (or use a turkey baster) until water starts flowing into the hose from the tank. Then, QUICKLY put the hose back on. That will "prime" your filter and you can then start it up.

You may want to have some towels handy... I got water all over the place the first few times I did it.

No problem! My only issue with Eheim filters are the hard to follow directions. Took me awhile to figure it out when I first got mine!
