Tank: 55g planted
Fish: (all goldfish)
Black Moor (2 inch)
Pearlscale x2 (2 1/2 inch)
Oranda (3 inch)
4 Amano Shrimp

Filter: Eheim 2215
Gravel... not sure what kind but it is about 2 1/2 inches deep.

This tank has been set up for a little over 2 years.

Water changes weekly, occasionally bi-weekly. I change about 1/3 of it out. I add API Stress Coat Fish and Tap water conditioner.

Food Type: TetraFin goldfish flakes once daily. Peas and Lettuce/Spinach once every few days. Bloodworms once in a while also.

Tested water:GH 120
KH 180
pH7.5
N02 0
N03 20
Ammonia 0

It is my pearlscale that is sick. His behavior is perfectly normal, nothing has changed in that aspect. Just his appearance. I really have no idea what is wrong. I thought it would go away if I did water changes more frequently. It's been a little over a week now and it's worse.

Any help is appreciated, I really don't want to lose a fish Sad

Looks like an internal infection of some sort (dropsy)?

Probably have to use an antibiotic based treatment to have any hope but I couldn't tell you what with any surety...something along the lines of kanamycin, minocycline (Maracyn 2) or triple sulfa and so forth.

In any case, keep good water quality up as any medication will be useless if water quality is poor. May want to dose salt too, about a tsp per litre.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea of what to do.
