|
|
My Betta, Vulcan, has been traveling with me from college to home and back again for the past 6 months. I've been using the container that he was in when I bought him to transport him. He currently lives in a 2.5 gallon tank that he has to himself. The container that we use for transportation is probably about 2 cups. My drive to college (we're going back there to work for the summer) is 5 hours long. He's been perfectly fine traveling in his container for the few times we've made this trip. However, he has never been in the container for longer than 6-7 hours maximum.
My question is, will Vulcan be OK if left in the container for about 24 hours?
We're driving out to my college's town next Sunday and have to stay the night in a hotel before we can move into our new residence the next morning, and that is when I'll be able to set up his tank once again.
My other options are to try to fill his tank with water from the hotel (which sounds iffy to me, even though I have his AquaSafe with me) or find a larger container for him, which is entirely possible but I'd rather use the one he's traveled in before, since it has nice little holes in the lid already.
If you guys have any advice about traveling with Bettas, it would be extremely helpful The packing and moving is already stressful enough for me and I want to make sure Vulcan can handle the journey too!
Thanks much! |

He should be fine for a few days. I know when I was doing a major clean on my old 10 gallon Mine was in his little cup too. Just try to keep the sloshing around to a minimum. _________________ In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. - Martin |
