I have a chance to grab up a Fluval FX5 for $100 (buddy getting rid of his stuff before PCSing). I've got a 70 gal tank back home that I was going to restart when I get out in June, but I'm wondering if the flow rate isn't going to be far too high for a 70g?

It will be fine as long as you don't want fancy goldfish or other fish with impaired swimming ability.

I was thinking about stocking it with Cardinals and a few Otos initially. I'll probably fabricate a spraybar out of some PVC to tame the flowrate a bit, but those fish should be okay with some moderate water movement I assume?
