My cousin asked me if fish blink or if there any kind of fish that blink...I think sharks (e.g. great whites) blink _________________

Sharks are the exception. Nearly all fish cannot/do not "blink" because they do not possess eyelids (there is no need to hydrate eyes ). Most sharks can cover the eye with an upper and lower membrane that mostly acts as a protective layer while catching/fighting prey. I think a few sharks lack this membrane though.
Other fish (mudskippers come to mind) already have a protective membrane covering the eye at all times to keep their eyes moist while out of water. They can roll their eyes around in sockets, but never "blink". Hope this helps. |

Their "blink" is actually looking down onto the substrate. It's really cute and comedic. _________________ Diamond Hill, Hong Kong |

For the non-native-english speakers out there, he said "you have to stare at their eyes for 1-2 minutes approximately".
Please do try to type better, it is actually a forum guideline. If you read first, you would have seen it. _________________ Let the current take you where you may not always want to go. |
