hi I am starting a 50/55 gallon reef tank. I don't really know what I want to put in it... I all so want a centerpiece fish that isnt to hard to keep.
so far I think my stock list is...
2 clowns
2 yellow clown gobies

these are some thing that I might want to put in...
flame back angel
lawnmower blenny
gobie shrimp pair (would diy)
maybe a fire fish or 2?

thanks!!!

oh and P.S. I know that the lawnmower blenny needs and established tank so it can feed. there is one at my lfs that looks like its tummy is gona explode!

This is a copy and paste of my comments from the other "centerpiece" thread:

I think the Flame Angel (Centropyge loricula) is at least worth a try.
They have the color and impact to be a true centerpiece specimen in my opinion, they have proven hardy enough to be captive reared in some facilities, and some specimens do quite well in reef systems with very little problems. Of course, there are no guarantees.

Alternately, you could try the African Pigmy (Centropyge acanthops) a.k.a. African Flameback, but not both however, as I suspect they would tangle. Very Happy

yeah but.... flame angel I just will not get!!!! my lfs that I work/volunteer at has a flameangel in his 600 gallon and it has eaten at least 1000 dollars worth of his corals! most people say that if its not eating corals now it will on a later date! and idk about the pygmy angels I think there size will make them blend in with the other fish! I think I want a tomini tang! because they stay small 5 to 6 inches!

Like I said, there are no guarantees, but good luck with your decision and best wishes for your success!
