Okay, we don't have a problem with too many leaves and racoons. However we have blackbirds everywhere and they poop in our goats water (we change it daily). 59, your goldfish may have never bred, they may have just "hid" for the winter. Also could I keep a small school of WCMM in the pond? It would look seeing them and the goldfish although they may not give color on their backs.
Thank you guys..and Katie and Sue. I hope to post pictures once I dig it. Still gotta earn the money.

| If you add WCMM, you will have no problem with mosquitoes anymore, and they will breed like crazy. |

But the WCMM could only spend the Summer in the pond so you'd need an alternative for maybe 7 - 8 months of the year.
Gold WCMM show up in ponds. |

When you say gold WCMM does that mean they are winter hardy? What about going to a bait shop and getting just plain 'ol minnows? It should be pretty deep and not freeze over because I am getting one of those surface de-icers.

Gold WCMM are not winter hardy but you can see them from above.
TBH I would just have goldfish. You can have shubunkins, yellows, reds, whites and mixed colours. |

Aight. I was just wondering. So I was thinking there are so many different "breeds" of goldfish why not just get 2 of each? Since where I am looking to build the pond is right next to my house should I be worried about that? Is it safe to have flower's all around the pond? What would be a good moss to cover the edge's of the pond? Thanks.

For low temperatures you'll have to stick to commons or comets but you can have any colours.
You can have flowers if you choose with care or you can grow marginal plants. |

Okay, a quick google search came up with some very pretty flowers so I will just get those (hey, I can even go to petco and get the plants they say are fully aquatic  )
Should I be worried about my pond being 2ft away from my house?
