What is a good brand of Silicone because my dad went to work for today and none of what they had said "Aquarium Safe"? _________________ In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. - Martin |

I had asked a similar question about silicone for repairing the sides of the an aquarium. I was told to get "GE type 1 silicone for windows/doors, without any mildew inhibitors works." I don't see why this wouldn't work for what you want it to. _________________ 2500 gallon (9,450 L) Koi Pond

I have used exactly the same type of silicone that Maestro said, I have only had it in my 55 gallon for about a month but it is still holding.
TIP: If you take the piece of glass off (like I did) rough it with some sandpaper to make it stick more, also be sure to get ALL sand out as it can stick to the silicone. _________________

about 50% of my tanks have been resealed with the GE I silicone. Its cheap and works like a charm. Oh and the solvent is denatured alcohol you may want to get some for cleanup. _________________ I think I need a bigger tank......
