I noticed just a few minutes ago I had some type of worms on top of my tank. I don't see any in the water anywhere but there is a lot of places that I could miss them in my tank. I'm fairly certain they are not Planaria. They are not white like the ones I've seen pictures of. These worms are close to a brown color and are about this (-----) long.

How fat are they? Do they appear somewhat like black mosquito larvae? A picture would help if possible Smile

If you have a digital camera, use a USB device to download the pictures onto your computer. Save the pictures to your computer. Then, go to an imgage hosting site (photobucket.com, tinypic.com-my favorite) and upload the picture to get an image code.

If you don't have a digital camera, you can take a picture with your cell phone and send a picture message to your e-mail adress, and then save it, etc. ...

If they thrash about when disturbed I would assume mosquito larvae without seeing a picture.
What fish are in the tank? Most fish go nuts for mosquito larvae.

My guess is mosquito larvae from what I can see. Do they hang out on the surface? In the stillest parts of the tank? Do they thrash about when disturbed?
If the answers are all yes then you have mosquito larvae. If your fish aren't eating them you need to get them out and disposed of before you have a house full of mosquito's.

I just touched a couple and they barely moved. So they don't thrash around. And the only place I can find them is on the top of the tank. Not in the actual water, but just on the glass right above the water where it stays wet all the time from evaporation I guess.
