Hi, I have a 20 gal tank and I was wondering if 1 American flagfish would fit in it and would it be a sufficient enough algae eater.

Thanks

I've read that american flagfish are great algae eaters. however, they will not hesitate to kill fish with fancy finnage (like bettas). what fish do you have in the 20 gallon right now?

I'm restarting my 20gal and I want something other than otos or plecos, I was planning on peppered cories, pair of killies, and a flagfish.

I think they will be fine - I have five AMerican flags in my busy community tank and they keep together in a little shoal near the surface .

windtrancer is right, as long as you don't have any fancy tailed fish in there with them - they should do fine. Very Happy

I had a pair of these and they shredded the tails of my other fish before.

Hope this helped!
