What are the dimensions of the tank? You'll probably want to go with metal halide lighting. What watages and how many depends on the dimensions of your tank.

I'd go with two 250watt metal halides. It sshould give you the depth penatration as well as the coverage you require.
You'll have to shop around for different lighting units and decide which one you want.

In addition to metal halides, you'll want to supplement your lighting with either T5, T8, T12 or PC lighting (so you can run actinics and/or daylight bulbs).
You'll also likely need to up your budget if you plan to light this tank with metal halides. I'd budget about $700-$1000 for lighting, unless you plan on shopping used and/or are able to find a heckuva deal. |
