my tank is now 4 months old and has 8 lps corals and 4 sps corals I have just bought a schuran calcium reactor of a friend when do u think I should start useing it ??

As soon as you get it hooked up. I wouldn't do a stony coral tank w/o one.

No...it is because of the stability of the three important growth factors for stony corals and balance of these factors. Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium, each is important and a reactor will ensure they are in balance.
