How about Masters Of Disguise. Fish or inverts that camouflage into their surroundings very well. _________________

how about anabantids? the current contest is carachines so anabantids would be good since there are many colour varieties of bettas. _________________ New to fishkeeping? Click the banner

MAURA:
How about a "my first tank" competition for hobbyists who have been at it less than a year? Kind of a way to show how even new fishkeepers can deploy a good, healthy tank if they do their research appropriately?
And ME:
For us newbies, and not so newbies - a tank that is less than 6mths old. Some of us need something to look forward to as a goal and others as a mid-point in the journey.
I feel this applies to most people - 'oldies' are constantly adding to their tank count and newbies are learning from the 'oldies' experience - so -
hopefully we will all be able to participate. I have happy fish, but my tank hasn't 'grown in' because it's only 2 months old, as am I in fishkeeping. I would value the critique this contest generates very highly.
Sorry, I haven't tried the 'quote' function yet. |

| I think it would be interesting to have a "budget tank" theme, almost competition-like, to see who could present a tank that is the most show worthy, with pride taken on the least amount $ spent. I'm sure everyone has a tank they picked up at a garage sale or relieved from a relative for nothing, stocked with fry and offshoot plants from other tanks, etc. Could be fun. |

A zoom out one, If there hasn't been one would be cool.
Or a theme with babies. That'd be cool too. _________________ Free is Good. |
