Dechlorinate water

Does it make a difference if u dechlorinate your water after mixing the salt? Or it doent matter?

You should mix your salt in dechlorinated water. It would be better to use RO/DI, but at least decholorite first.

OK because I forgot to do it, anyway the water iuse should not contain chlorine, its comes from a well and not public water. I mixed the salt then I put the declo.. anyway it should be good, ill just make sure that I'm not gonna make it twice.

In reallity even if it is chlorinated water just leaving it with a heater and either a bubbler or a power head will lead to the chlorine disappating out of it. However if the tap water is treated with chloramine you have to use a chlorine/chloramine remover. which I assume is just adding some sortof ion that the chlorine/chloramine will bond with to make it harmless to fish. chloramine in small concentrations such as in tap water is very stable and won't just disapate like chlorine.

any idea of the quality of the well water? phosphates? nitrates? anything else that might not be a good idea to add to a marine aquarium?
