does anyone know of a loach that won't kill a snail population, but just damage it. I have ponds, mts, and ramshorns and I still want them. but I want to keep their populations at bay. is there any loach that will only eat a few? I've been looking for kuhli's but any other loaches would be fine.

well I'm not sure but the Dwarf Loach (Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki) only gets 6cm (2.5 inches) and may be too small to eat your snails. Just know also that loaches are schooling fish and you need atleast 3 for them to ever feel secure and happy.

If you can't find a suitable loach, get the one you want and get full grown mystery snails who should be too big for most loaches.

Thats interesting.
I have heard that most loaches won't actually wipe out a snail population. I think it was clown loaches if there are enough snails to begin with and if the tank is quite large. But aren't clown loaches supposed to be great snail eaters??

My Clown loaches leave no snail alive! I've even put MTS in with them and they ate every single one. I've heard that they will eat (or try to) large Apple/Mystery snails.
