|
|
| I have a tank that is 2.5 gal and has a temp of about 72F, the water is hard to very hard and I was wondering what fertilizer I should get. I am definitly going to get flourish, flourish excel, but am not sure whether I should get floourish Iron or Potassium? My plants seem to have the problem of being yellow(mature leaves of anubia) and my Java Fern is getting clear and black, should I get both fertilizers or just one of them, which one should be mandatory? |

IMHO you should get Flourish Excel, Flourish, Flourish Nitrogen, Flourish Potassium and Flourish Phosphorus.
Or you could go to www.gregwatson.com and get a pound each of KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4 and Plantex CSM+B and have enough fertilizers to last you for a lifetime. _________________ Link to my Guide www.rexgrigg.com

| thanks guys but I don't think that I can get some of the real concentrated stuff... might end up killing my fish but I know that I now have a long list of fertilizers from flourish to get. |

You can make up solutions with the bulk dry nutrients and dose them in the same way as the Seachem stuff. _________________ Link to my Guide www.rexgrigg.com

That's all I dose is dry nutrients.
I just use Chuck Gadd's calculator to figure out how much to dose and dose. Or you can check out my Guide where I have some basic guidelines.
For a 2.5 you would be better off making solutions. I give directions for making solutions in the Dosing Dry Fert's section of my Guide. _________________ Link to my Guide www.rexgrigg.com
