I've just bought a pressurised co2 sytem my local lfs has theres which is the same system in the same tank!!!! set at a bubble every five seconds does thst sound about right to u guys its a 220 litre tank thanks

"automatic" co2 systems use pH readings to shut off or turn on. I think you would want to do the same. you'll need to get a KH and pH test kit and google a cO2 ppm chart to figure out your concentration levels.

co2 levels vary upon the initial water acidity and hardness, so not every 220L tank will have the same cO2 throughput.

what supamii said I bang on. It all depends also like he said KH/gh if you have hard water it will take more co2 to counter the buffing of the hard water.
you really need the co2 chart google chuck's aquarium there is a free aquarium program with the chart built into it. nice little programe
