I currently have a 10g planted tank with:
3 Albino Cories
8 Glo-Lite Tetras
2 Mystery Snails
(3-5) Baby Mystery Snails
Some people are telling me that I can add a dwarf gourami while others say the bioload will be too much. What do you think?

I think it could handle a centerpiece fish. A dwarf should go in fine, just make sure you keep up with maintenence to keep the water quality good. _________________ 47 tanks and still adding!

In smaller tanks, I think that since water quality is more vulnerable, overstocking is even more important to be avoided. but if you like dwarf gouramis (and you should), I guess you could still fit it in, as long as you do slightly larger water changes weekly, say at least 35% _________________ New to fishkeeping? | Okay, another question I have is if I should siphon gravel. I have a fully planted tank and I'm afraid that I may destroy the roots of my plants. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it's good for mulm to accumulate on the ground. |

Your tank looks to be well taken care of, nice setup. I would go ahead and add one as long as water changes/vacuming is done weekly. Just curious what kind of filter do you use, couldn't really see from the pic. How did you cycle it? |

| My filter just hangs off the side of the tank in the back. I'm not really sure what kind it is because my friend just gave it to me used. All I know is that Whisper produces it. I cycled the tank using old filter pads and gravel from my older brothers tank. (3 week cycling period). This tank has been established for a while now and nitrites, nitrates, and ammonia levels are still in control. pH is 7.0 at all times (I check daily) |

| I would think about the dwarf gourami because mine ate all my plants |
