I have a red stain/algae growing in my tank. Its all over my decorations and my fake plants and now its starting to show on the sand. I'm not sure what it is or how to take care of it. It get worse each day. Its a 20 gallon tank and about 2 weeks into cycling. I didint want to take anything out yet to wash it so it wouldnt mess up the bacteria. Can anyone tell me what it is. Thanks.

Could it be brown algae? Its reddish brown. If its a new tank, then it could be due to the silicates (found in sand and in the tank sealant), or it could be due to phosphates.

don't worry too much though, since most new tanks get it. At least mine did lol. It should go away after a while
