Back in early July I posted I had an injured blue starfish and wondered how to help it. One arm 2cm from tip had an opened wound. I thought you may be interested in its progress.
I believe I discovered what caused the injury - after moving some live rock around the tank one piece was too close to the rotating power head and I suspect the starfish may have got caught between the two, with the edge of the powerhead turning like a knife! Ouch. Anyway after quarantining for a week or so, I returned it to the main tank and watched carefully. A week or so later I dabbed the wound with Betadine as suggested by my LFS - I did this only once. Now 10 weeks later the skin seems to have healed over quite nicely - there's still a big dent in the arm but it seems OK.
Thanks for all the advise given. Smile
