I found these things called Uniseals. I think maybe I could use them in a overflow box instead of using bulkheads. http://www.asmskimmer.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=49

would probably work. But for 3 or 4 extra bucks I'd go with a bulkhead.

Uniseals are OK but not really intended for long term duty. My ASM skimmer has them and they do leak a little, and if you bump them wrong they can pop out. Not worth it, use a bulkhead.

Do you think that a little bit of sealant might help. My tank maker charges for installing bulkheads, so I just thought that these Uniseals might allow me to save some money.

Install the bulkhead yourself, they are easy, just slip it through the hole and tighten the nut. I would skip using a uniseal for that function.
