I have recently purchased an RO/DI unit and invested in a TDS meter. My tap water TDS reads out at 365 and the RO product at 4 from a psi of 40. Assuming my tap water remained at a similar or comparable level what would be the upper limit of RO TDS readings before I need to change out the DI filters/membrane?

Anything above 15 ppm in your RODI is considered excessive when dealing with Saltwater tanks.

4 on the otherhand is acceptable by most standards. Be careful, once the DI is wasted, it is known to spit out ammonia into the water and then can kill whatever you put that water in with.

Any more questions? Feel free.

thanks,

Rick

If you have DI as the last stage and you are getting anything more than zero you need to replace the DI or add a second one. DI should strip anything that is left in the water out.
