I was strolling around on Google, when I came across this

The theory sounds a bit strange... but I don't know. What do you guys think is this realy, what they make of it?

I am often chastised for running nitrate reducing resins, phosban and such for nutrient removal. I am not trying to create the perfect self sustaining eco system, just trying to provide the cleanest water for my corals. How I achieve this is not important to me as long as the desired effect is there. I am not a puritan, in my tanks the end does justify the means. _________________ Out on the road today...I saw a DeadHead sticker on a Cadillac...

Interesting...I agree with you on how to achieve this is not important, as long as the desired effect is there. Being chastised for running nitrate reducing resins, phosban and such for nutrient removal, I can indeed understand why. In my mind it finds no grounding if I consider the facts, but then at the same time if it worked for others then why not in my case.
But I'll stick with my ways, as I like being called an artisan _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |

While on the topic of strange/alternative filtration methods, what are your opinions on the de-nitrating coil? _________________ Years of fish keeping = Good advice |

It works but it will not get you to zero nitrates. If I remember right you will test about 5ppm for nitrates with the coil but it is still a very good system. _________________ Out on the road today...I saw a DeadHead sticker on a Cadillac...
