OK. So, I've done some research, and picked out what fish I like best that fit in at least a 55 and are suppose to be easy to fairly easy to take care of. Can anyone give me any stocking ideas? Fish are listed from most liked to liked.
Eels: Hawaaiin Dragon, Chestnut, Snowflake, Whitemouth, Spotted, Zebra.
Angels: Flame, Coral Beauty, Eibl's, Cherub, and African Flameback.
Clowns: Yellowstripe Maroon, and Ocellaris.
Damsels: Blue Devil, Yellowtail Blue, Humbug Dascyllus, Fiji Blue Devil.
Wrasse: Longfin Fairy, Filimented Flasher, Scott's Fairy, Exquisite Fairy, and Carpenter's Flasher.
Gobies: Randell's Shrimp, and Clown Shrimp.
Dartfish: Purple Firefish, and Firefish.
Rabbitfish: Onespot Foxface, and Foxface.
Tang: Yellow.
I know that I can't keep all of these fish together, but I was just wanting some ideas. Although I like all the fish, but the fish under the eels, angels, clowns, and rabbitfish are my favorite and would prefer to have in my stocking plan. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you.
Personally, I wouldn't go with any Tangs. They are a schooling fish and keeping them singly in an aquarium just seems sad to me. Make sure those wrasses are all reef safe so you can keep a good variety of invertebrates. Just out of curiosity, are you keeping a FO(fish only), FOWLR(fish only w/ live rock), or reef? _________________ I would like to acknowledge that all of the info I give is purely based on research.
Thanks CCS. I've been planning the tank itself for about 4 months now. I got so busy planning the tank, I forgot to plan my stock! The only Tang I really like are the Yellow, which from what I've read, should only be kept singly unless a large aquarium is provided. I plan on a FOWLR. Although LR is expensive, I think that the investment will be well worth it. I also am going to be using a filter and a protien skimmer. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you.
OK. So, I've been looking around some more and I've narrowed my list down to:
Angels: All listed above (I only intend to keep 1.)
Clowns: Oceallaris (Most likely a pair)
Wrasse: All listed above
Gobies: Tiger Watchman, Diamond Watchman, Hi Fin Red Banded, and Wheeler's Watchman. (Preferably one that can be kept in groups.)
Rabbitfish: All listed above (I only intend to keep 1.)
You have any ideas for a stocking plan? _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you.
OK. So, I've been looking around again, and narrowed it down some more to my most favorite of them. Individuals in each species are listed in order from most liked to least liked. (I love all of these, but wasn't sure how to word it.)
Angels: Flame, and Coral Beauty. (I only plan on keeping 1.)
Clowns: Ocellaris. (I only plan on a pair.)
Wrasse: Longfin Fairy, Filimented Flasher, and Carpenter's Flasher.
Dartfish: Purple Firefish, and Firefish. (I only plan on keeping a pair.)
Gobies: Wheeler's, and Hi Fin.
Rabbitfish: Onespot Foxface Rabbitfish
From what I have read they should all coexist. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Any suggestions for a stocking plan would be very much appreciated. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you.
OK. So I've been working on this all afternoon but I've devised a stocking plan.
1 Flame Angel
2 Ocellaris Clowns (Pair)
1 Lizard Blenny
1 Scott's Fairy Wrasse
1 Tangaroa Goby
and if it would work a Skunk Cleaner and Tiger Pistol Shrimp. The Pistol doesn't have to be a tiger, but I would like a Pistol for the Goby.
Any questions/comments/concerns/advice are more than welcome. Thanks for any imput. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you.
