Does anyone have a Yellowstripe Maroon Clown? I'm getting ready to set up my first sw aquarium, and I would like to see what your experiences are with these fish. Any imput would be very much appreciated. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |

I love Maroons. They are extremely hardy and active, but the downside is they can reach 4 or 5 inches and become somewhat aggressive in some cases. Other choices would include the Tomato and Cinnamon, several species can be bought tank raised, including the Ocellaris. _________________ Keepin' marines happy for 25 years |

Yes. I've viewed many species. I'm just having a hard time choosing between the Yellowstripe Maroon, and the Ocellaris. _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |

The tank size is either going to be a 55 or 75. I can't give you exact brands but we are going to be using a filter, protien skimmer, live rock, sand (not sure if live or not yet), timer, heater, thermo, hydrometer, test kit, salt mix (of course), and then we are special ordering a twin bulb hood for whichever tank we get and will use a full spectrum, and either a blue or blue actinic bulb. I don't think I forgot anything, but I might have.
I don't have an exact plan worked out, but I want to stick with either a few larger colorful fish (yellowstripe maroon, yellow tang, or a moray... etc.), or a lot of smaller colorful fish (ocellaris, longfin fairy wrasse, purple firefish... etc.) _________________ If at first you don't succeed... skydiving is not for you. |

In that case, the Maroon will be fine with a Tang and moray, as long as the moray is a smaller Zebra you should be fine. Some morays will get too big and nasty, some tangs will get too big... your research will lead to success. _________________ Keepin' marines happy for 25 years |
