I have had 2 small fantail GF (1-2 inches) for about a year. I recently added a medium sized calico fantail (3-4 inches). Intially I was worried the larger one would bully the small ones around but I am having the opposite problem I think. The small ones take turns following the new guy around with their nose up his/her butt and bumping his belly. I have not seen any damage or torn fins but I am concerned. Is this just new guy in the tank behavior, mating rituals, or something else? I have no idea about the gender of any of these fish.

Do I need to be worried?

I see know need to worry.

This is generally just "new guy in the tank behaviour" It should end in maybe a few weeks.

As long as the calico is not harmed is all good. Gold fish are normally not aggressive.
