Hey, I'm new to these forums, and have recently moved into a house that has a 265g triangular pond.
There is currently 8 goldfish in it, 2 comets and the rest are fancies, (adding my 2 remaining comets and moor soon).
I was wondering if it would be pushing it to add a koi or two. (Also the goldfish are quite small atm, and I don't want them eaten).
Any advice would be helpful. (Note the pond had been run for a month without fish).

You can put koi with goldfish, its just that your pond is way to small for an adult koi. They can get 3 feet+ and need a lot of space to swim. I keep 2 koi, 3 golden orfes, and 10+ goldfish in my 2500 gallon pond, they are all fine with eachother.

I agree, with TJTommy

But I must also say I know of people who have kept koi in your sized pond (not sure what your dimensions are) that have reached more than 2 feet.

Some koi take longer to grow than others, the problem comes in when choosing that slow growing koi, because his no deferent from the rest, but if you started with a small koi of not even 2inchs, it would take him a considerable while to out grow the pond and then he'll have to be move.

So maybe it's best staying with Goldies.
