I've noticed every now & then someone will post a helpful link, but the URL will be GIGANTIC and "stretch" the width of the post to the point of requiring side scrolling to read everything. This kind of activity bugs me. LOL
If you've noticed that your URLs are huge, but don't know how to make them shorter, there's a really neat site you may like called Tiny URL or some such.
http://tinyurl.com/
You put your extrasuperannoyinglylong URL in the window, click the button, and you're given a teensy URL to use while posting. I just shortened a 423 character URL in the Cichlids forum to a mere 24!
Enjoy, and thanks! _________________ ~~Shawna |

Wow Shawna, that's a really cool resource I hadn't heard of before! I've taken the liberty of replacing the link you provided (from some free geocities website) with the website of the company that actually provides this service, just so we give proper credit to who came up with the idea, and don't need to look at an annoying popup
EDIT: I might actually add a link here on the board where you can create a tinyURL directly from here... _________________

The other way to fix it (which is what I do) is:
| Code: |
I like short URL's

For those who like TinyURL, there are a couple of shortcut ways to use it.
Firefox has an extension that makes TinyURL creation very easy. https://update.mozilla.org
In IE, there is a way you can make a special bookmark, and you just hit it on the page you want a TinyURL for: http://tinyurl.com/#toolbar Enjoy! |

Hi Haname, it's called TinyURL Creator. I found it under the Miscellaneous category.
I hope you can see it - the site lists extensions for which version of Firefox you have and which operating system you have (and I run Linux and Firefox 1.0x) but pretty much most of them are compatible and should show up. Hope you find it! Laskey |
