The Age of Aquariums offers 4 prestigious Awards of Excellence, as recognition and incentive to those who work hard to provide hobbyists with the best freshwater and marine aquarium sites on the web, and as a highly selective link session to help visitors find quality sites related to the hobby. A description of each award is listed below. Click on the images to see all the great sites that have won each award! If you're considering an application, you might want to check them out first to get a better idea of what's expected from an award winning site. At the end of this page you'll find an application form...submit your site now! And please don't be disappointed if you do not receive an award...unlike many others, this Awards Program is not just a scam to get my site linked on other pages...more than half of the submitting sites do not receive an award, and winners may choose whether or not they wish to display the award on their site or link it back to the Age of Aquariums.

This award is granted only to the top, high-traffic, general aquarium sites which offer a wide variety of free resources to the aquarium web community, although it may also be a commercial site. Articles, reviews, photo galleries, message boards, chat rooms, links, and many other activities are expected, as well as highly professional layout and maintenance. This special award is granted only to aquarium sites with which I really identify. The owners must have worked very hard to offer their own personal contributions to the web community, so that visitors can appreciate and seek inspiration in their achievements. Content must include a collection of quality images showing the owners' aquariums and/or their inhabitants. Award of Excellence
This is a special award of incentive, granted only to beginning aquarium sites which show a promising future as contributors to the aquarium net community. Anyone who's ever started a site from scratch knows how hard it is to promote and start drawing traffic to it. Awards tend to help a lot in this initial phase. The site should be only a few months old, and already have enough material to make people want to come back soon and check its progress.
